Aftercare Treatment Instructions
It is VERY important to keep the treated area MOIST with healing ointment until healed. Use only the aftercare given, or a petroleum free based healing ointment. This will help the healing process speed up as well as keep you from feeling any discomfort. If you use other healing products, please ask me first and make sure you put it on with a sterile Q-tip or clean finger.
It is important that the protective cover or scab stays on during the healing process. DO NOT DO ANYTHING THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS PROTECTIVE COVER TO COME OFF PREMATURELY. (Example: Excessive touching, rubbing, scratching, steam, hot water, swimming, picking or doing any activity that will cause excessive sweating).
It is normal to lose approximately one-third or more of the pigment. Pigment will slough off or scab and peel while the skin is healing. The remaining pigment will remain permanently in the skin. You will gain more ink up to four weeks after original appointment.
Following your aftercare instructions is extremely important to the outcome of your results. Pigment can fade over time from lifestyle, sun, skin care products used, skin type and genetics.
You may ice if there is any swelling. I prefer cold water in zip locks. Ice can be too cold.
Do not have the pigmented area or areas in chlorine or salt water for 30 days.

- Laciness tablets or granules: A non-prescription to be taken during the presence of the fever blister. This will decrease the blisters effects and promote faster healing.
- Zovirax capsules and/or topical ointment: prescription only. To be applied to the area of oncoming fever blisters. May lessen the effects of the blisters or prevent them entirely.
